PAM opens a new possibility for remote monitoring of gas leaks with thermal cameras: automated detection and visualization of leaks to alert operators.
HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Viper Imaging and Aquanta Vision today announced a commercial partnership to bring Aquanta Vision’s PAM (Pixel Analysis Mode) to Viper Imaging’s continuous remote monitoring solutions using thermal cameras at oil and gas and other industrial facilities.
The partnership marks the first expansion of PAM beyond OGI cameras and comes on the heels of Viper Imaging’s testing of PAM with thermal cameras to automate detection and visualization of gas leaks and emissions and alert facility operators.
PAM is a tiny, physics-based app that analyzes thermal signals at the individual pixel level. Originally developed to make methane leaks much harder to miss, PAM is commercially available for OGI cameras.
“We are excited to integrate the PAM application from Aquanta Vision into our ViperVision software platform. Use of this analytical application allows us to confidently identify gas leaks and alert our customers when one occurs. Due to its scalability, we are able to deploy this on a greater variety of applications including refrigerant, hydrocarbon and other critical gas installations,” said Andy Beck, VP of Business Development for Viper Imaging.
Thermal cameras are installed at critical infrastructure across several industries worldwide, including oil and gas. They enable continuous remote monitoring of equipment, operating conditions, security and safety. They are not specifically designed for gas leak detection or gas emissions monitoring.
“We were introduced to Viper Imaging by our partners at Sierra Olympia,” said Babur Ozden, Founder and CEO of Aquanta Vision. “The Viper team then explored whether PAM could extend the use of thermal cameras to detecting and visualizing gas leaks and emissions events and alerting operators. The results they saw were highly encouraging. Given the widespread use of thermal cameras for industrial remote monitoring worldwide, PAM could open a significant new opportunity.”
Under the partnership, Viper Imaging will initially integrate PAM into its fixed-mount thermal monitoring solutions using FLIR A-Series thermal cameras, followed by solutions using Sierra Olympia OGI cores and other imaging modules. The use of a variety of sensors enables a more customized solution for each customer. PAM is being launched as part of Viper’s newly updated ViperVision IQ software suite.
Together with this partnership, Aquanta Vision’s partners now bring PAM to all three principal camera configurations used around oil and gas facilities: handheld, drone-mounted and fixed-mount—and, for the first time, beyond OGI cameras themselves.
Aquanta Vision’s PAM app makes finding methane and other gas leaks easy — wherever OGI, and now thermal, cameras go.
