FRANKLIN, Tenn., Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Xsolis, an AI-driven technology company that reduces administrative waste by enabling collaboration between healthcare providers and payers, today announced that its Dragonfly® platform has surpassed 10 billion AI-powered predictions. The milestone reflects one of the deepest, most refined datasets of real-world medical necessity and level-of-care decisions generated by a single, purpose-built AI system.
Xsolis was founded in 2013 as an AI-first company committed to ethical AI, years before most established players in utilization management began layering AI onto existing platforms. The company introduced its first predictive model, the Care Level Score®, in 2015. Today, Xsolis’ AI models span predictive and generative capabilities, powering Dragonfly across utilization management (UM), discharge planning, and other clinical and operational workflows.
Xsolis counts a prediction as any AI-generated output tied to a patient encounter, including level of care and status determinations, discharge planning, and post-acute care transitions. These predictions support clinicians, utilization management nurses, care managers, and revenue cycle leaders in making faster, more consistent care decisions while reducing friction between providers and payers.
“Every prediction represents a real decision point in a patient’s care journey, and reaching 10 billion predictions indicates how long we’ve been doing this and how much the model has learned along the way,” said Joan Butters, co-founder and CEO of Xsolis. “We didn’t get here by adding AI to an existing platform, or by moving fast and figuring out the ethics later. We built Dragonfly around a commitment to ethical AI from day one, and this milestone is proof that approach works at scale.”
A track record of AI-first innovation
The milestone comes amid two years of accelerating product and AI innovation across Dragonfly, spanning new generative AI capabilities and expanded product offerings:
- September 2024: Dragonfly launches. Xsolis officially launched Dragonfly, its next-generation AI-powered platform giving health systems and health plans a real-time, shared view of medical necessity and level-of-care decisions. Dragonfly’s extensible architecture enables an improved user experience and faster delivery of new capabilities to clients.
- December 2024: First generative AI pilot signed. Xsolis announced its first generative AI solution to help clinicians streamline documentation and expedite appeal letters, addressing a task that, according to a Harris Poll cited at the time, consumes nearly 9 hours a week of clinician time.
- June 2025: Results validate the second generative AI model. A three-month pilot with Beacon Health System showed Xsolis’ generative AI solution cut initial medical necessity review time by 68%, from 15 minutes to 4.7 minutes per review, while also accelerating payer approvals from four to five days to as little as two days.
- August 2025: A new product line for length of stay. Xsolis launched Dragonfly Navigate, a discharge planning and capacity management workflow solution that brings length-of-stay analytics directly into clinical workflows. West Tennessee Healthcare, the first health system to pilot Navigate, is using it to identify and address avoidable discharge delays.
- August 2026: A third generative AI capability. Xsolis introduced its GenAI Peer-to-Peer Clinical Synopsis solution, the latest new solution within Dragonfly Advise, marking its third generative AI capability since Dragonfly’s 2024 launch.
“Xsolis is here to truly partner with their clients and support them,” said Heather Wagner, Executive Director of Utilization Review and Case Management at Beacon Health System. “It’s incredibly powerful to have a partner that advocates for your organization daily, bringing the latest and most innovative technology.”
“Our relationship with our providers is paramount,” said an executive at a national health plan. “Xsolis offers us the opportunity to significantly reduce provider abrasion, increase our review effectiveness, and streamline our efficiency in care management on behalf of our team and health plan members.”
Looking ahead, Xsolis is continuing to expand AI-led innovation across utilization management, discharge readiness prediction, appeals and denials management, and operational analytics, including new generative and agentic capabilities across those areas. At its user conference in May, Xsolis previewed Generative Business Intelligence (BI) and its agentic AI capabilities, both expected to be available to clients in the coming months.
“The value of 10 billion predictions is not the number itself,” Butters added. “It is what a dataset this deep lets us build next. As Xsolis’ AI moves from predictive to generative to agentic, that advantage compounds — and our clients are the ones who benefit.”
Momentum by the numbers
Since Dragonfly’s launch, Xsolis has grown its client base by 64%, now serving more than 615 hospitals and health systems, with more than two-thirds connected to one or more health plans through its collaboration network. Xsolis has also been named Best in KLAS for Physician Advisory Services for five years, and its client base includes seven of the top 10 integrated delivery networks by discharge volume, per Definitive Healthcare’s ranking.
