Appelbaum is currently representing clients in significant federal and state matters involving alleged financial fraud, pandemic-related benefits fraud and asset recovery, including a multi-jurisdictional matter seeking recovery of more than $9 million allegedly diverted from affiliated international companies. She has also represented corporate clients drawn into criminal proceedings as third-party claimants and successfully obtained the complete quashing of a subpoena seeking a survivor’s privileged records on behalf of a federally funded victim services organization. Across these matters, Appelbaum’s work has required the coordination of criminal defense strategy, financial analysis, digital forensics, forfeiture issues and parallel proceedings.
