Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. (“Harbor”), an asset manager focused on delivering differentiated investment solutions, today announced the appointment of Adela Ghinet as Head of Thematic Solutions, effective immediately.
In the newly created role, Ghinet will lead Harbor’s thematic investing effort, with responsibility for shaping and building the business and developing timely ETF ideas designed to provide investors efficient access to high-conviction investment themes. She will work across Harbor’s Investments, Product, and Distribution teams to identify emerging opportunities, translate them into differentiated investment solutions, and build the investment insights and content supporting Harbor’s growing thematic platform. Ghinet is also a named Portfolio Manager on Harbor’s growing thematic strategies.
“Investors are increasingly looking for more precise ways to access the structural changes reshaping markets and the economy. Building a successful thematic business requires more than identifying an interesting trend. It requires investment rigor, differentiated thinking and the ability to turn an idea into a solution that is relevant and useful to investors,” said Kristof Gleich, President and Chief Investment Officer, Harbor Capital Advisors. “Adela brings that combination. She has demonstrated exceptional investment judgment, strategic thinking and an ability to bring people together across Harbor, and I’m excited to have her lead the next phase of our thematic business.”
Ghinet’s appointment follows Harbor’s recent expansion into thematic ETFs, including the launch of the Harbor AI Labs Ecosystem ETF Suite, a family of five actively managed ETFs designed to provide exposure to the public companies Harbor believes are most closely connected to the world’s leading artificial intelligence ecosystems. The suite introduced Harbor’s proprietary Economic Linkage Framework, which evaluates companies based on their economic relationships with individual AI ecosystems rather than relying primarily on traditional industry classifications or broad thematic labels. Harbor is helping to lead the charge around providing insight on the emerging AI Economy.
Building Harbor’s Thematic Platform
Ghinet’s initial priorities will include supporting Harbor’s recently launched thematic strategies while building a pipeline of future investment opportunities. Her mandate will also include developing a differentiated thematic investment perspective and helping Harbor provide investors and advisors with insights for understanding rapidly evolving themes and their potential portfolio implications.
“Thematic investing is most compelling when a powerful structural change can be connected to an investable opportunity with real economic substance behind it. I’m excited to bring together Harbor’s investment capabilities and the expertise across our organization to develop thoughtful, differentiated solutions and help investors better understand the forces reshaping markets,” Ghinet shared.
Experienced Investment Leadership
Ghinet has been with Harbor for over five years and has held responsibilities across investment manager research and strategic initiatives. She helped establish Harbor’s ESG efforts, spearheaded development of the firm’s “Asset Class Champions” framework, and played an instrumental role in developing BLOOM, Harbor’s firmwide initiative focused on Building Leadership through Opportunity, Outreach & Mentorship.

There is no guarantee the Fund will achieve its investment objective. Equity and foreign securities, particularly those in emerging markets, are subject to market volatility and political, regulatory, economic, and foreign currency risks that may cause the Fund’s value to decline. The Fund’s performance depends on the success, adoption, and growth of the company identified in the Fund’s name and companies most directly linked to that company’s artificial intelligence (“AI”) ecosystem. The Fund and such companies may be adversely affected by competition, technological disruption, cybersecurity incidents, supply chain constraints, regulation, reputational events, or shifts in market and investor sentiment. AI-related companies face rapid technological change and evolving legal and regulatory scrutiny that could negatively impact their business, profitability, and market value. The Fund relies on third-party data and quantitative models that may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or ineffective, and such models may not perform as expected under all market conditions. American Depository Receipts (ADRs), Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), and private company investments involve additional risks, including heightened volatility, limited liquidity, reduced transparency, foreign currency exposure, and uncertain operating histories or valuations. Because the Fund may invest a greater percentage of its assets in a single issuer or a limited number of issuers, it may be more susceptible to risks associated with a particular economic, political, or regulatory event than a more diversified portfolio.
