Funding supports the commercial relaunch of the Mini-Infuser®, a wearable, patented, continuous-rate infusion device that lets stable pets recover at home.
RALEIGH, NC, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Journey Actuating Technologies, Inc., doing business as RxActuator™, a veteran-owned veterinary medical device company, today announced a seed investment from Waypoint Ventures. The investment anchors the company’s seed round and supports the commercial relaunch of the Mini-Infuser®, a wearable, non-powered continuous-rate infusion (CRI) device for animals.
Continuous-rate infusion is a standard way to deliver pain control and other therapies in veterinary hospitals, but it usually keeps the patient tethered to an IV pump in the clinic. The Mini-Infuser is worn by the patient and delivers medication subcutaneously for 48 hours, so pets in stable condition can continue therapy with less stress at home with their families. Veterinarians use it after surgery and for chronic pain, hospice and palliative care, antibiotics, and other cases that call for continuous medication delivery.
Published research supports the at-home model. A 2025 study in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Erger et al.) reported an 89.5% success rate for outpatient continuous infusion, with costs roughly 60 to 70 percent lower than inpatient care.
Journey Actuating Technologies acquired the Mini-Infuser technology and related assets in early 2026 and officially relaunched the product under the RxActuator™ brand on October 1, 2026. More than 500 units have been used by over 90 veterinary clinics in three countries, with most volume coming from repeat accounts.
“Stable patients shouldn’t have to recover in a kennel or a stall to get continuous pain control or infused antibiotics,” said Jeff Journey, Founder and CEO of RxActuator and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Waypoint brings more than capital. Their partners understand building disciplined, mission-driven organizations, and that’s exactly what we need as we scale manufacturing and put the Mini-Infuser in the hands of more veterinary teams.”
“RxActuator sits at the intersection of a proven clinical need and a clear path to scale,” said Jeff Walker, General Partner at Waypoint Ventures. “Jeff is an experienced operator who has taken a de-risked technology and given it the leadership, systems and commercial strategy it needed. We’re proud to back an exceptional leader building a company that improves care for pets and the people who love them.”
RxActuator will use the funding to scale commercial operations and veterinary clinic adoption, expand manufacturing capacity and margins, broaden clinical protocols into new specialties, and develop intelligent infusion technology to connect drug delivery with real-world clinical outcomes.
